Description: One of the first of nine farms granted to the Huguenots in 1688. Today it is a vibrant boutique winery. Visit the cellar door to experience this mix of old and new and enjoy their award winning, signature styled wines. Join them for a bespoke chocolate and wine paired tasting of Belgium chocolates hand crafted by  a local chocolatier and carefully selected by their wine maker to complement and accentuate the wine’s characteristics or savour local estate cheese from Dalewood, a perfect companion to their wine.

La Bourgogne

Description: Located on a tributary of the Berg River, the farm is a subdivision of the original Bourgogne farm which was among the first Huguenot farms when it was granted to Pierre de Villiers by Simon van der Stel, the first governor of the Cape Colony, in 1694. Shaded by 150 year old oaks, the farm house at La Bourgogne has a warmth and charm which captivates all who visit. Today, La Bourgogne Farm produces quality wines and olive oils.

GlenWood

Description: If you would enjoy visiting a boutique winery in an “off the beaten track” location, in an area of outstanding natural beauty, where top quality wines, food and service are offered, you should visit GlenWood. Established in 1984, Glenwood lies in the little-known Robertsvlei Valley surrounded by mountains, close to Franschhoek. All estate wines started their lives in their very own noble cultivar vineyards and all are routinely highly rated by local and overseas wine judges with the Chardonnay’s receiving particular acclaim.

Dining: The tasting room offers guests a unique Fine Wine and Food Experience. On arrival, each guest will be presented with tastes of six of the estate’s best award-winning wines together with a specifically designed Tasting Palette carrying tastes of six carefully prepared matching dishes. After tasting the various options, guests will select their lunch main course and the wine to accompany it. The menu caters for all palates and primarily comprises locally produced products including cheeses, meats, fish, vegetables, herbs and olive oil.

Rickety Bridge

Description: This celebrated 18th century winery is a popular destination in the Cape Winelands with its long winemaking history, award winning wines and sophisticated tasting centre. The rich land of the Rickety Bridge estate can tell many tales of the past, but the wine making has a focus on the future and today is undoubtedly one of the most progressive boutique wineries in the Cape. Upon arrival, you will be picked up by a vintage open-air vehicle and transported to the estate. Whilst you are there, you can visit the wine cellar and tasting room where you can experience a tasting of their renowned wines or sit on the veranda and enjoy a meal while admiring the splendour of the magnificent surroundings.

Dining: Take a seat at Paulina’s overlooking the Rickety Bridge vineyards. Sip a glassful of crisp estate wine and enjoy a delicious lunch while drinking in the splendour of the magnificent surroundings. In keeping with current culinary trends, the restaurant features a variety of half and full portions of its exciting bistro style menu, allowing diners the opportunity to sample and share dishes.
