The Franschhoek Wine Tram experience has reached the top of a very long list of things to do in Franschhoek and the beautiful valley that is home to award winning wines the world over!  You can definitely get lost in exploring the picturesque town itself with its main street filled with an eclectic mix of shops that will empty your pocket faster than you could imagine, visit any one of the 40 stunning restaurants that make Franschhoek the Food and Wine capital of South Africa or take a tour through the historic Huguenot Monument, but no visit to Franschhoek will be complete without an up close and personal journey through age old vineyards on the Franschhoek Wine Tram.

The hop-on hop-off tram or bus passes each stop along the way once an hour, giving you a minimum stay of 1 hour at each of the stops along the line you have chosen. This is a tour you can complete at your leisure but to get the full experience plan on at least three hours so that you can really enjoy exploring a few of the stops.

Because of the popularity of the Franschhoek Wine Tram it is highly recommended that you book in advance due to the limited number of tickets available per day. The Franschhoek Wine Tram seats 32 passengers on eight comfortable benches and six of them have flip-over tram-style seat backs which allow the passengers to enjoy the view in both directions.
