On the Day
PARKING If you’re driving to Franschhoek, park at the Franschhoek Terminal, located on the corner of Main Road and Cabriere Street, or make use of the parking at our Groot Drakenstein Terminal if you are travelling on our navy and orange lines and prefer to depart from there.
COLLECTING YOUR TICKETS Collect your tickets at least 15 minutes before the tour starts from the ticket office at the Franschhoek Terminal.
If you’re travelling on the navy and orange lines, you have the option of collecting your tickets and commencing the tour at our Groot Drakenstein Terminal, located on the corner of the R45 and R310 roads. The departure time booked for Navy & Orange is based on the shuttle service from the Franschhoek Terminal to Groot Drakenstein. If travelling directly to Groot Drakenstein Terminal keep in mind that you can add 30 minutes to the departure time to coordinate with the actual departure time from Groot Drakenstein Terminal. For example, if you book for 09:05 am Navy Line your tour will only depart from Groot Drakenstein Terminal at 09:35 am.
PREPPING AND PACKING FOR YOUR DAY Be sure to have a good breakfast before the tour, and drink lots of water throughout the day.
Feel free to grab a cup of coffee and a snack at the Terminal before your departure. Please note that no food and drinks are allowed on the tram and tram-bus.
Pack sunblock and a hat (or purchase at our terminal), and a jacket (for colder days), as the tram and tram-bus are open-sided.
Make sure your phone is charged, as you’re going to want to take photos. If you’re planning on sharing them on social media, we’d love to see them, so please add #winetram to your posts!
BUYING WINE If you’re planning on buying wine while on your tour, please consider purchasing our wine tote bag, which includes a discount card for use at participating estates. All proceeds go to the charity that manufactures the bags.
Wine purchased while on the tour can be handed over to the host for collection at the end of the tour. Your purchases will be marked with a sticker, and you’ll receive a corresponding sticker, which you can hand in when collecting your wine at the ticket office at the end of the tour.
