The beautiful Plaisir Wine Estate is situated at the foot of the Simonsberg Mountain between Paarl and Franschhoek. The wines produced here are inspired by the harmony of a rich history, the fertile soil and lush vineyards. Our quest to make exceptional wines would have found favour with our Huguenot founder, Charles Marais.

Plaisir, also the home of the Tempest Gin, invites you to experience refined indulgence within our historic tasting room, housed in the old barn dating back to 1823. Here guests are welcomed to immerse themselves in our range of award-winning wines which they can enjoy in one of our expertly crafted wine tastings or pairings. Alternatively, elevate your experience with our Tempest Gin range, which can be enjoyed through our one-a-kind gin tasting or to be enjoyed in one of our Tempest Gin cocktails  - a perfect beginning or finale to any day.

For the hungry, we offer a range of delicious cheese and charcuterie platters and a variety of farm-style burgers and pizzas – perfect to enjoy against the picturesque backdrop of our vineyards and the Simonsberg mountains.

Plaisir farm also offers a range of ‘manor suites’, for those wanting to stay with us just a little bit longer and savour all the offerings of the farm and the Franschhoek area. Turn your tasting into a staycation and unwind with Plaisir.

Whether you’re here for a wine tasting, a Tempest Gin experience or a leisurely stay at our manor suites, let us guide you through our realm where every detail is designed to make your visit truly memorable.
