Fresh air, superlative wines and award winning cuisine
Book your seats and door to door transfers from Cape Town and back and get ready for a day out you will never forget! Spend the day on one of our hop-on and hop-off Wine Tram tours, stopping off at various wine farms to sample some of the finest wines and cuisine internationally, all of which is nestled in the Franschhoek Valley, one of the most beautiful wine regions in the world.
The aura of old world magic lingers among these vineyards, some of which are over 300 years old, tended to lovingly by wine makers who have passed these wine estates down through generations dedicated to the creation of some of the best wines in the world surrounded by an area steeped in a rich history.
The Wine Tram offers a variety of wine farms to choose from, depending on which schedule you decide on, with departures scheduled to leave from our ticket office via open-air wine tram or open-air bus and an average of between 5 and 6 stops along the way according to your choice of schedule. The various schedules The Wine Tram offers, such as the Red, Blue, Yellow and Green line are all readily available on our website in an easy to read format.
Each line will take you through a variety of cellars that cater for visitors who are in search of that something truly special at small boutique wineries or to the larger cellars which offer conducted tastings of award winning wines, from plump reds to elegant whites and the bubbliest in sparkling wines.
After your Wine Tram tour, if you still have space left, you will find more than 40 restaurants in the wine & gourmet capital of South Africa to choose from, many of which serve cuisine dreamed up by award winning chefs with both national and international culinary honours to their name. Monuments testifying to the arrival of the French Huguenots are dotted throughout the surrounding area, giving you a peek into an entirely different era, and much of the architecture in and around Franschhoek still reflects the historic French influence.
The air is fresh, the wines are superlative and the cuisine is out of this world; what better way to spend the day than with the crew of passionate locals at The Wine Tram?
